My commitment to the game industry

⚐ A vision: social sciences help supporting the development of an inclusive environment for the game industry as well as tackling the challenges faced by our society.

⚒︎ A mission: an approach that is sensitive to player profiles, promotes inclusiveness, makes it easier for audiences to get involved and fosters verisimilitude through ludonarrative coherence.

My professional offer has been developed in contact with the game industry (see my last productions) and conveys a firm vision. I believe in the capacity of game studies and social sciences to support and assist the industry in confronting some of the major challenges facing our society, including:

Inclusiveness and the struggle against discrimination (gender, diversity) ;
➣ The role of the game industry in addressing environmental challenges ;
➣ The connection between social and technical progress.

To support this vision, I’m offering a consulting and training service for the game industry (both board and video games). These services aim at supporting professionals by offering them a complementary perspective that respects their creativity, their desires and projects.

These services should provide my customers with three main outcomes:

1. Verisimilitude

Supporting the design teams in avoiding the ludonarrative dissonance of the game worlds.
My work ensures that the original universes or IPs are dealt with an eye for believability. It ensures that sensitive social themes and intimate stories, specific to contemporary video games, are addressed in a convincing way.

2. Adaptability

Taking into account the unique characteristics of players by establishing realistic and detailed player profiles, true to their day-to-day gaming experience (time available, playing practices, etc.).
Producing these profiles enables the teams to make it easier for players to access and engage with their gaming experience, while encouraging their long-term involvement.

3. Inclusiveness

Integrating issues of inclusiveness and diversity into design processes and practices.
Ensuring the inclusiveness of games by committing to a sensitive approach to narratives, universes and systems is one way of increasing the audiences. The aim is to further legitimise the practice of play and promote games as a medium for social progress.
